Our Testa House is a craftsmen style farmhouse built in 1927 by my great great grandparents, the original settlers of our land. It is a beautiful 3-bedroom home with hardwood floors, high ceilings and gorgeous beadboard paneling. The house itself sits upon our working wine cellar, so our guests are sleeping on top of 60 barrels and about 400 cases of wine! Every detail of the home is comfy and welcoming, from the quilts and white pillowslips on the beds, to the claw foot bathtub and the original walk-in pantry. Everything is original, crisp, open and clean. It is a wonderful balance of everything old and new. You feel and see the history of our home and our family during your stay.
Testa gives people this feeling when they step foot on our property. A feeling of belonging- it’s a place to get away from the every day hustle, a place to truly relax and find yourself and revive your soul. It is a place to heal and enjoy life. It’s this feeling that Testa gives people that makes them fall in love with the property and our Testa house. You’re welcomed by our breathtaking views, our house wines and fresh flowers from our garden in every room. The house sits in the middle of our vineyard along side our pond right on our working ranch. We welcome our guests to partake in any activities that are going on during their stay, whether it’s our fun winery events, pressing or crushing grapes during harvest or barrel sampling in the cellar. Our guests get to experience what living on a working ranch is all about and they love every minute.
To top it off, the face of the Testa House is a charming open front porch with a wonderful waterfront view. You are able to wake up on the ranch and look out at our vineyard from kitchen window and then to take your coffee and sit on the front porch and watch the geese and ducks upon the pond. There is nothing else like it in Mendocino County.
At Testa you are surrounded by 105 years of history, beautiful vineyards, a working winery, old rustic barns and our Tasting Room which is just steps from the house.
We have wonderful old walnut trees on the grounds that offer perfect shade for a picnic on the grass. My mom, Maria landscapes everything at the ranch and does such a beautiful job with the flowers that always seem to be in bloom, its fun to take a walk through our white rose garden and just take in natures beauty. The pond also provides endless amount of fun for the whole family, whether it’s fishing on the shore, taking the rowboat out for a cruise or enjoying in the views from the picnic benches that are placed throughout the property.
Our Italian family has been farming the land since 1912 and we established the winery in 2010, which is currently ran by 4th and 5th generations. We take great pride in our historical family vineyard and winery and we love sharing our family house and story with guests from all over the world. It brings us so much joy to be able to invite others to enjoy the land that we love and hold close to our hearts. A member of our family is always around for a personal tour or a quick story for our guests. We are always close by or just a phone call away.
